MoneyWi$e, a national financial literacy partnership of Consumer Action and Capital One, is the first program of its kind to combine free, multilingual financial education materials, curricula and teaching aids with regional meetings and roundtables to train community-based organization staff so that consumers at all income levels and walks of life can be reached. Consumer Action and Capital One, long-time partners in the MoneyWi$e financial literacy project, have created an online interactive course to help you manage your money.
Less driving may mean insurance savings. As the price of gasoline tops $4 a gallon nationwide, the Consumer Federation of America (CFA) has released a consumer alert based on its analysis showing that consumers who are driving less could save an average of 5%- 15% on their automobile insurance rates—about $47 to $142.
Financial education for the armed forces. Outreach staff members Mikael Wagner and Linda Williams are featured in a video segment about Consumer Action’s MoneyWi$e partnership with Capital One and how important financial literacy is to military families.
